Ask a new question. I did not use the other applications in the Suite, didn’t need or want them. As a couple years passed the last release was Windows Live Essentials Windows Live Mail was equally liked and disliked by Windows Email Client users around the world.
When you look at the screenshot of Windows Live Mail you see a clean Toolbar, none of those silly ribbons. Having Calendar Reminders sent to me from my Hotmail account is how I plan each week, that Calendar still works great! Equally important to me in version is being able to Right Click an image any file choose Sendto Email Client.
You get asked one time if you want to create a photo email and once you choose NO, all images are attached and embedded in the email. In effect you have sent a web page to your contacts newsletters etc. Since I am on a retro-kick with Windows Classic GUI I might as well put this discussion out there for people who appreciate the reality of this technology. See how clean the Toolbar is in Windows Live Mail ? Just wonderful to work with and is still going strong on my Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium custom build.

That patch will only break WM, it won’t fix anything. I know because two of my clients downloaded the patch and their Calendars would no longer sync. I told them in my reply to simply do a System Restore to the day before they installed the patch. Their WLM Client is working fine again. That email arrived to mysteriously.
I checked out the links and yes they all were linked back to Microsoft servers. Just something about it didn’t feel right. I don’t buy it that Essentials will go away soon. As I said WM is working just fine on my system with Microsoft email servers.
We’ll see what the future holds. The good news is I haven’t noticed any changes using Windows Live Mail until recently when I needed check back on something I had just sent a few days ago. The bad news, my sent items folder does not display any of my recently sent items.
As a result, I do not have the option to download folders to pick and choose from to display in my Live Mail setup. For me to see sent items now, I need to either go online to oulook. As for the user interface, It would be nice to see something like Windows Live updated to meet the new mail standards. My vote is still in for it. Windows Live Mail is still available at www.
Offline allows you to download the MB installation application. Therefore you will have it saved forever on your system and in your backups. I still use WLM email app in the suite and have tried it on W8. My preferred OS is Windows 7. It will be a long time before I dump Windows 7 for anything new from Microsoft.
Microsoft is legally obligated to continue Windows Updates for W7 until January Just wanted to let everyone know still loves Windows Live Mail that it’s still running strong on Windows I have a dual boot system and run old programs through the gauntlet on Windows Office with a few.
I just ignored them and Word, Excel and Power Point work just fine. Thank you Microsoft for not interfering with the use of these legacy programs. They were and are the best programs with less bells and whistles on the Toolbars then any other similar programs you created over the past 20 years. Just because something is old doesn’t neccessarily mean it should be obsolete. Security risks do not exists with these programs either.
I am using Windows Live Mail and it works beautifully. And , I do know where Windows Live Email Client can be downloaded, for anyone is seriously interested. However, I’m not posting the link on this forum for fear that Microsoft attempt to thwart anyone from downloading WLE If you are seriously interested in using WLE send me an email and I will pass the link along.
